Our mission is to empower survivors to thrive by nurturing their self-determination and courage; and to promote healthy relationships and compassionate communities through education, outreach, and advocacy.
Empowering Survivors of Domestic Violence to Thrive in Northwest Arkansas
LGBTQIA+ Affirming Advocacy
All of the services provided by Peace at Home Family Shelter are LGBTQIA+ inclusive and affirming. Peace at Home recognizes that much of the anti-violence awareness movement has focused on the issues of cis-gendered, heterosexual relationships, leaving members of the LGBTQIA+ community without the support they have needed and deserved. As service providers, it is important for us to listen to the needs of community members and actively strive to make our services inclusive of all people and sensitive to the realities that they are facing.
If you would like more information about Peace at Home Services, you can contact our LGBTQIA+ Advocate, Katherine Tyson (she/they) at ktyson@peaceathomeshelter.com.
Every day, hundreds of Arkansans reach out to domestic violence shelters like Peace at Home. The harmful effects of domestic violence are far-reaching and found in all corners of our society, regardless of age, socio-economic status, sexual orientation, gender, race, religion, or nationality.
